    1Why is Januvia prescribed?

    Sitagliptin is sold under the various trade names Januvia is one of them. It is an oral antidiabetic medication that is prescribed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It can be used with diet and exercise to control the blood sugar level in adults. 

    2How to use it?

    Januvia tablets can be taken with or without food. It is recommended to take it regularly each day at the same time. Swallow the drug as a whole and don't chew, crush or break the tablet. Take the medication exactly in the dose and duration as recommended by your physician. 

    3What if I miss a dose or overdose?

    If you forgot to take a dose then skip that dose and go back to your regular routine. If you skip two three doses then immediately consult your physician or pharmacist. Don't take two doses at a time to get more effect. 

    If you take higher doses than the prescribed dose then it leads to overdose that always needs urgent medical supervision. Consult with your physician if you take higher doses or call any poison control centre right away. 

    4Side-effects:

    Side-effects of Januvia tablets may include nausea, headache, nasopharyngitis, urinary tract infection or upper respiratory tract infection. If these tablets are used with other medications like insulin or sulfonylurea then it may show hypoglycemic condition. These Side Effects are not enough to consult your physician or pharmacist for any other side effects.
